Here’s my first update on our spring 2013 veggie garden a few of our seedlings started popping up and later I want to show you this awesome little greenhouse I just got from Lowe’s!

Hopefully the next week or two here they will all start sprouting!
Right now I’m totally in love with this new little greenhouse Lindsey and i found at Lowe’s!
Oh yeah! Also, my carrots from last spring were finally ready… Well they were probably ready a while back but I never harvested them since the tops hadn’t started dying. But either way the chickens were scratching around in the planter they were in and it reminded me. They looked huge, when I started digging and here’s what i got!
I cannot wait to cook with them! It’s so nice to pick things right out or your garden for dinner, I’m really hoping my garden this year produces a ton more then last year!! We shall see.
What are you planting this spring? Have you started your seeds yet? (I know it’s a bit early for most of the country) Do you start yours inside or out? In pots or straight into the ground ?

I saw they have same thing and they have the big one is now half price CDN$60.-.
So tempting!
Oh wow! That’s fantastic! I love mine so far
I am going for sweetcorn again, runner beans (a bit later)…. courgettes, potatoes, some peas I think as well. I am most excited about trying to grow pineberries! I have just ordered some seeds! Have you ever tried them…. strawberries which taste like pineapple?!! I just have to remember not to plant things too early, as I always get so excited and then it’s still too frosty to plant stuff out for ages! Your stuff looks awesome though, when do your frosts cease? x
Oh my goodness pineberries sound awesome! I definitely need to try them soon.
Oh yes that can be a problem, can you start them in a green house until then. When is your expected last frost ? We don’t have a frost per-say in Southern California, but this year we had a couple mornings with frost so I had to be careful. It’s not something we are prepared for here.
Last frost can be quite late…. I try to wait until late April usually…. I shall be growing, growing, growing though!
Oh wow that is late! It’s great you don’t let it slow you down though! I can’t wait to see your post about it
Well, I hope it is earlier this year, but esp with things like tomatoes I wait really late! I shall indeed, and I look forward to your updates too
x
Tomatoes that makes sense, I’m probably starting mine to soon but I honestly don’t know. This is only my second year with a garden.
Thank you!!
