Busy week!

Hi all!

Haven’t gotten to post lately life has been so crazy! All week I have been working at OMG! Insider and have been baking some awesome treats for Echo’s Friends’ Cookies!!

Echo got to play tug of war for real finally with an awesome pup Charlie at the dog park.

I’ve also been looking for a new roommate which has been a bit more time consuming than expected. Hopefully we can find the right person soon.

Last night I also made lunch for the next two days at work, Lindsey and her mom had given me this pot of condensed stock:

20130417-222820.jpg Shes been making roasts and chicken with it recently, so good!

So I made some ground turkey, spinach and rice using this condensed stock.

First I cooked up the turkey meat on the stove with organic Worcester sauce.

The put 2 bags of rice melody (from trader joes) in the microwave.

Once the meat was cooked up I added the condensed stock and organic frozen spinach, and cooked it until the spinach was warmed through.

Last I added the cooked rice and stirred it well.

A little more Rambling

Yesterday while I was working at Bones I found a couple foods I really want to make. Of course I immediately texted them to Lindsey! I found this zucchini gratin on Instagram 20130404-004732.jpg20130404-004739.jpg20130404-004744.jpg

Then these awesome little muffins 20130404-004838.jpg20130404-004901.jpg20130404-004906.jpg

And for 2nd meal….(the meal we have about 12 hours into work). We had these amazing braised Short Ribs with some mashed potatoes and corn. They were so good I decided I REALLY need to try making them! So I found this recipe online http://m.foodandwine.com/recipes/braised-short-ribs
I will let you know when I try them! Have you made short ribs? What tips would you give me

That’s all for now, but as I write this its 1:15am I just got home from work and for some reason my chickens are awake. They always put themselves to bed at sunset and I just close the door from the coop into the run when I get home. But tonight they are all up and wandering around. I have no idea why…. Maybe they think its morning since some days they get up with me before dawn (when I work early). It’s time to skedaddle them into their coop so I can go to bed. Since its night time I’m not taking any chicken pics but here’s some from last weekend when Starla decided to push her luck with the house boundaries, lol.

Warner Bros Studio

Today I got to work on one of my favorite shows and they were shooting at Warner Bros Studio Lot. I love this cast and crew (I’m not going to say which show, just that I’ve talked about it before and they do not usually shoot at WB.) Before today I had never filmed at WB before. I had been there once for a screening but that was all.

I love this lot, I mean Friends shot there (my all time favorite show)!!

It was also the Main Street from Gilmore Girls and many famous TV shows and movies.

You can read all about Warner Brothers’ company history.

From their website:

The Warner Bros. Lot:
Physical production facilities on the historic 110-acre lot include 29 soundstages (including one of the tallest in the world that also has an in-ground tank with a two million gallon capacity), plus a 20 acre backlot that can double as almost anywhere, be it a jungle in the rainforest, Mainstreet USA or a bustling metropolitan city.Source.

Recently I got to sit in on the table read for a CBS pilot starring Rupert Grint! I was covering for a friend, so I am not working on it past the table read but the cast and crew are incredible!

Check out its FB page: here.
And what Rupert has to say about it: here.

It’s a great pilot!

Yesterday I got to go back to Teen Wolf (on MTV) for the day, very fun show to work on! I love the cast and crew here as well! Hopefully they will need more 2nd unit and I can be with them on a semi regular basis

First week at Entertainment tonight and The Insider

20120824-093154.jpg

20120824-093914.jpg

So I just finished my first week of training on Entertainment Tonight and The Insider. I don’t usually train to work on a show, but this is different than most shows I work on. The cast and crew of both shows are wonderful and I am so happy to be a part of their team, even just for a few weeks!

This feels much more like an office position than I am used but it’s a very nice break from my normal of driving different places everyday, spending all day out in the sun, and running around with my clipboard and script notes. Plus it’s really incredible to see how a daily show like this comes together everyday!

Thanks S. for hiring me!! I’m so glad to be a part of the team!

These are just random photos of the backlot. I love backlot offices that look like houses!
